The Colmcille Small Grants Scheme

Background

Colmcille has three funding schemes:
1. The small grants scheme for carrying out research and for planning joint initiatives
2. The grants scheme for funding projects (the main Colmcille scheme)
3. The bursaries scheme to help people learn Scottish Gaelic

If you want to develop an initiative with a partner in Scotland, or which is connected to Scottish Gaelic, this small grants scheme (scheme 1 above) is here to help develop joint initiatives and partnership. When the partnership and an intitiative plan have been agreed under this small grants scheme, an application may be made to the Colmcille Grants Scheme (scheme 2 above, the main Colmcille grants scheme), which gives a higher level of support, if that is needed.

If you are interested in making an application speak with Colmcille officers in Foras na Gaeilge before you fill in the form below.

Baoite le Darach Mac Con Iomaire

Mórchoimisiún nua de chuid Amharclann na Mainistreach á léiriú ag An Taibhdhearc i gcomhar le Galway International Arts Festival
Déardaoin 12 – Domhnach 22 Iúil 2018 @ 7.30pm
Matinees 14 & 22 Iúil @ 2pm

“… an ciúnas a chreimfeas an ceantar seo –
níos measa ná ceimiceán ar bith…”

Scéal cumhachtach, comhaimseartha é BAOITE faoi lánúin iascaireachta a bristear ó chéile de bharr ciúnas agus bréaga an phobail agus iad sáite in agóid in aghaidh comhlachta fracála mara. Scalann an scéinséir drámatúil seo solas lom géar ar shícé tuaithe na hÉireann – sícé an chiúnais, sícé an náire, agus sícé na mbréag, trí shúile an phríomhcharachtair, Cáit.
Tá Cáit ag iarraidh gasúir. Agus a tríú hiarracht ar IVF ag teip, tá cinneadh tromchúiseach le tógáil aici – seasamh lena pobal agus iad ag cur in aghaidh na fracála – nó loic ar a muintir agus a comharsainn ar mhaithe le mian a croí féin.
Tá scoth na n-aisteoirí páirteach sa dráma seo: Siobhan O’Kelly, Macdara Ó Fátharta, Diarmuid De Faoite agus Seán T. Ó Meallaigh, le ceol nua-chumtha á chasadh beo ag Saileog Ní Cheannabháin agus Maitiú Ó Casaide. Is é an t-ealaíontóir Seán Ó Flaithearta atá i mbun dearaidh, agus is é an t-údar Darach Mac Con Iomaire atá i mbun léirithe.
Beidh tóir ar thicéid don dráma seo agus moltar don phobal ar spéis leo BAOITE a fheiceáil a gcuid ticéad a chur in áirithe go luath.

“… Ná habair tusa focal – ach coinnigh agat féin é,
ní fhaca tú tada – is níl milleán ar éinne…”

ANÚNA Singing workshop

Saturday 12th May

2pm – 5pm | £5

Established in 1987 by its current Artistic Director and composer, Michael McGlynn, Anúna is Ireland’s flagship a cappella vocal ensemble representing the beauty of Irish musical heritage and literature all over the world.

This workshop is ideal for those with some singing experience and the ability to read music is an advantage. We will use pieces in Irish and English from the Anúna repertoire and the workshop will be delivered bilingually.

Two Anúna facilitators will deliver the workshop:

Fergus Cahillane is from Dublin and a graduate of the NUI, Maynooth, with a degree in English and Music. He has been a member of Anúna since 2016.

Ellie McGinley is a native of Co Donegal. She is a music graduate from Dundalk IT, a specialist in sean-nós singing and a fiddle player.
