Foras na Gaeilge welcomes applications from education centres around the country for the Scríobh Leabhar 2021-22 project. Scríobh Leabhar is sponsored by Clár na Leabhar Gaeilge and is run in partnership with various education centres throughout Ireland.
Scríobh Leabhar gives primary school children an opportunity to write, design and publish their own books in Irish. It promotes reading and writing in Irish among young children.
The children will have two options for the kind of book they will write. They can write a book by hand or, teachers can use relevant educational apps to help the children to write a digital book if they wish. The main focus of the project is the writing process itself.
Laura Rawdon, Clár na Leabhar Gaeilge, said, “We are delighted to announce Scríobh Leabhar this year. Scríobh Leabhar will give primary school children around the country opportunities to show their imagination by writing and illustrating Irish language books. We hope that the children will really enjoy developing fun characters and stories as part of the project during the school year. We are happy to announce also that all information about Scríobh Leabhar is available on Foras na Gaeilge’s website from today."
Deadline for applications: Monday 11 October 2021 at 5 p.m.
