#CéMuid – Ruth Bailey

Foras na Gaeilge has begun a new campaign to introduce members of staff to the public. We would like to introduce Ruth Bailey!

Area: Services clerical officer/information technology

Venue: Amiens Street, Dublin

Role: I am the receptionist, the first face you see as you walk through the door, the first voice you hear when you are on the phone with us and the first point of contact through emails that come through the site. I am a member of the awareness working group as well, where I help with campaigns on social media, creating material for social media, and I give answers to peoples questions and posts on social media. As well as that I help with an information technology project with my line manager Micheál Ó Maolruanaidh.

What aspect of the work do you most enjoy?: I love to meet new people and help those who seek it. As well as this, I really enjoy working with the other members of staff.

How does your work support the promotion of the Irish language?: I promote the Irish language on social media. I support the staff to promote their work.

What are the plans in your area in the future?: I want to give stronger help to the awareness working group and to complete one or two other campaigns to promote the Irish language. I will be supporting the information technology projects in the future which are to improve the efficacy of Foras na Gaeilge and, therefore, improve our customer service.
