The Irish Language to be embedded in all aspects of life on the
island of Ireland

Mission Statement

Our mission sets out the reasons we exist, our remit and the change we
wish to make.

To strengthen the use of the Irish language and its cultural
richness in all places, for all people, and in all aspects of life

Values
We have recognised 5 values or fundamental principles which guide our
work from day to day.

Good of the Irish language: The Irish language is the foundation of all that we do. We are concerned with the needs of the Irish language community and the developmental needs of Irish language itself. We utilise our resources, our influence and our expertise in a coordinated and cohesive way for the good of the Irish language in society.
The public: We are committed to providing a service to the public and the state. We recognise our legislative duties and our responsibilities to the public, both the Irish language community and the greater public. We include them in our work, from planning to implementation, in a professional, understanding and flexible manner, based on good practice and research, and considering the policies of the 2 governments.
High standards: We adhere to high standards in improvement, development and learning. We carry out our work in a committed manner, based on good practice, expertise and regular review, and staff are systematically trained and empowered.
Respect: We foster respect for ourselves as an organisation and for the public. We communicate effectively with colleagues and with the public, and we respond to them in a positive, imaginative and transparent way.
Leadership: We adhere to our fundamental principles through good example. We proudly present a vision for the Irish language in our work. We strive to positively influence the Irish language as we deal with the public in a pioneering, innovative and expert manner.
